YMCA and YWCA of Shanghai have friendship exchange with overseas YMCAs and YWCAs, and other civil organizations. Up to now we have had a good-will relationship with YMCAs and YWCAs in Hong Kong, Taipei, Taichun, and Tainan. We have also established friendship or partnership with urban YMCAs from Australia, Canada, Korea, Japan, Singapore, and the Unite States. Our exchange ranges from long-term cooperation on volunteer and staff training and short-term mutual visit by senior staff and board members. International interaction helps us with learning, developing and being stronger. We have formed a world YMCA network to promote international YMCA movement.

　　YMCA of Shanghai has established friendship ties with Gwangju YMCA and Chun Cheon YMCA in Korea, Osaka YMCA and Yokohama YMCA in Japan, YMCA of Singapore, YMCA of Great Seattle, YMCA of San Francisco and YMCA of Honolulu in the States, Manila Downtown YMCA in the Philippines, Sibu YMCA in Malaysia. We also have a three-site friendship agreement with Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong and YMCA Victoria, and a good-will tie with Diakonie Rosenheim in Germany.

　　Cross-Cultural Volunteering
　　Since Oct 2000, YMCA of Shanghai has cooperated with Cross-Cultural Solutions to place international volunteers in Shanghai to provide voluntary services. This service aims to improve oral English of young locals and to help those foreign friends to learn more about Shanghai and Chinese culture.
