YMCA/YWCA Chamber Music Orchestra
YMCA and YWCA of Shanghai Chamber Music Orchestra was founded in August 2008.The orchestra mainly takes on violin and cello rehearsal and performance. String instrument hobbyists get together like a family and improve their performance skills. They promote philanthropic performance and make friends. Through the instrument do they nurture their tastes and consolidate their union strength.

YMCA and YWCA of Shanghai Chorus
YMCA and YWCA of Shanghai Chorus, founded in 1999, have about 45 members made up of YMCA and YWCA of Shanghai members and other vocal music hobbyists. They are committed to various cultural exchanges and philanthropic performance. Their performance benefits music education, friendship making and peace keeping, pursuit of optimistic life, and meeting social needs. By now the chorus has given performance in exchange in the States, Singapore, and Japan.

Friday Salon
Theme: Friday Salon is a communion event which attracts young people to its particularly-created relaxing vibe. They can come and make friends, extend their social life, or release their stress of study and work. Their participation will bring themselves deep understanding of YMCA/YWCA and joining themselves in YMCA/YWCA cause. Therefore the sense of belonging prevails among YMCA/YWCA members and friends.
Contents: The communion is a theme-oriented event with games and free talk. We could invite Drama Society, Dancing Training Center and Youth Arts Salon to present some programs. We can also invite scholars to talk about hot topics with the participants. We expect warm-hearted and mind-like young volunteers to come and bring YMCA/YWCA culture to their mind.
Time: Friday Evening once or twice every month
Fee: Members 5 yuan/person, non-member 10 yuan/person, bringing some tea food (Fee may vary if it is held in other venues.)
Participants: Members aged 20 to 40; non-members welcomed

YMCA and YWCA of Shanghai Drama Society
YMCA and YWCA of Shanghai Drama Society was founded in July 2002. We teach drama theories, provide performance drills, and organize performance. We advocate volunteering spirit and expect young people to know deeply about YMCA/MWCA. We plan to rehearse dramas like Cinderella and 15-minute-long Hamlet.
Time: 18:30-20:30 Every Wednesday Evening

English Club
English Club provides members with a study salon to improve their English. Participants practice their English in conversation and learning through play. Foreign volunteers may sometimes join in our club.

Friendship Association
YMCA of Shanghai Friendship Association is a mass communion affiliated to YMCA and YWCA of Shanghai. We comply with YMCA motto of ‘Never minister thee but ministered by thee” and espouse the aim of ‘Serve the society and make population blessed’. We have groups to unfold Activities. All participants make exchanges and enhance friendship. Their spiritual life goes up.
Time: 13:00-16:00 Every Wednesday Afternoon. An assembly is held once every month.

Learned Women’s Study Group
YWCA of Shanghai learned Women’s Study Group is a mass communion launched spontaneously by learned women. We aim to offer learned women a stage where for them to express without obstacles their thinking. We have three study groups, namely West District group, Tuesday group, and Wednesday group. Each group meets once every two weeks.

YMCA of Shanghai Yuguang Association
YMCA of Shanghai Yuguang Association was founded in 1942. We are a mass organization led by YMCA of Shanghai.We are organized in spontaneity in regard to YMCA of Shanghai’s aim. The main task is carrying out education in terms of morality, intelligence, physical health and the mass. We expect to cultivate sublime personal characters, self-contribution, and volunteering spirit in order to serve the society and make population blessed. In addition, we develop and expand Chinese virtues and push forward work on senior citizens. Thus we can make friends and enhance friendship.
