A delegation of four, including the president and the general secretary, from our friendship partner YMCA Victoria, visited us between Feb 5 and 9. The reception by and talk with Ms. Hua Bei, director of Administration for Religious and Ethnic Affairs, the meeting between our YMCA's, the visit to our social service programs and city tour opened for our far-traveling friends an window through which to learn about the development of Shanghai, and to see the confidence and hope the Government and the Party gave to religious groups who participate in social progression and social-economical development. The delegation also saw a positive cooperation the YMCA & YWCA of Shanghai has with the government in the course of professionalized social service, beheld the responsibility we have undertaken to respond to social needs, and observed our characteristics of professionalism.
During the visit, the delegation visited our entrusted-to-manage community centers, and held proactively deep talks with Mr. Jianrong Wu and senior staff. The specific outcomes contain seven aspects-exchange between governments, youth exchange, helping YMCA SH approach to the world YMCA professional field, board exchange, sharing the experience in publicity and management, cooperation in social service, and risk management. It is a successful partnership exchange. It evokes positive impact on friendship cooperation, community development at locals and civilian exchange between two sides. It is also a significant practice we are doing for public diplomacy under the support of United Front Work Department and Administration for Religious and Ethnic Affairs. |
