On Jan. 17th, the funeral of the Hon. Madam Lu Jie, a retired colleague of YMCA & YWCA of Shanghai, was held in Shanghai Longhua Funeral House. There were 31 co-workers, including General Secretary and Vice Secretary of YMCA & YWCA of Shanghai and co-workers, attended the funeral. Despite the distance and difficulties, some co-workers attended the funeral on time to see the Hon. Madam Lu Jie off and expressed their sympathy to her overseas relatives. At the funeral, Mr. Yuan Ye, the Vice Secretary of YMCA of Shanghai, made a speech in memory of the Hon. Madam Lu Jie and her service to YMCA. In addition, brothers and sisters from Shanghai Community Church were also invited to chant psalms which allowed the participants to understand the meaning of life and the appreciation to God.
