Shanghai YMCA Training School aims to improve learning interests of primary and secondary school students, and offers courses in general education and arts education, taught by senior teachers. General education includes pupils’ writing, secondary school student writing and reading, 3L English, basic English, New Concept English, and oral Japanese and oral Korean, having native speakers as teacher. Arts education includes cartoon drawing, basic art, piano, guitar, ballet, pipe instrument playing and folk music.

In addition, the school offers reemployment training for laid-off women. A good course is house keeping for expat families, the first in Shanghai to do that training for laid-off women.
